The Legionnaires Water Temperature Thermometer Kit contains everything needed to monitor water supply temperatures to prevent the growth of Legionella.
The Thermometer Kit includes Therma 1 industrial thermometer robust and easy to use that works in a range -99.9 to 1372°C with a resolution of 0.1°C or 1°C.
With a 10,000 hour battery life , 1.5 volt AAA batteries will last at least 5 years.
The Legionnaires' Kit includes three different probes for different elements of the water system .
The penetration temperature probe can be used to record tap water temperature, ribbon surface temperature probe for surface of pipes and tanks and the yarn probe for all hard to reach areas.
Incorrect water temperature is a key risk factor for Legionella growth.
Legionella bacteria multiply in water at temperatures between 20 and 45°C , particularly if nutrient input is present, such as scale, rust, sludge or algae.
A typical control method is to store cold water below 20°C.
< /p>
Hot water should be stored above 60°C and dispensed above 50°C.< br>
Code now applies to all hot and cold water systems in the workplace , regardless of their capacity, i.e. the lower limit of 300 liters previously used to exclude domestic systems no longer applies.
Each Legionella thermometer kit contains:
- 1 Therma Thermometer 1 ( AR005738 )
- 1 Penetration probe ( AR005667 )
- 1 Surface probe precision ribbon ( AR005852 )
- 1 Wire probe PTFE ( AR005973 )
- Kitchen Timer ( AR005381 )
- 70 Mini Tank Wipes ( AR005629 )
- ABS Carrying Case
LEGIONELLA TEST LEGAL RESPONSIBILITIES
If you are the employer or person responsible for the premises , you need to organize a Legionella exposure risk assessment
The Revised Version of the Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) on Legionnaires' disease: Control of bacterial Legionella in water systems (L8) published by the Government of Health and Safety (HSE) extends the scope of its guidelines on the fight against legionella in water.
While home systems can pose a risk, the code applied only to a risk resulting from a professional activity , but includes national owners who have the duty to protect their tenants against health risks.
