Remove the thermometer from the storage box. Press the on/off switch. During the internal self-test, the display shows all items. Then the last measured temperature is displayed for 5 seconds. The protective cap indicator flashes to indicate that a new cap needs to be attached. To enable accurate measurements, it is important to fit a new, clean protective cap before each measurement.
