Description du Legionella thermometer kit

Budget Legionella Thermometer or Thermometer Kit, designed to help prevent the growth of Legionella bacteria. It is supplied in a protective PVC pouch with a Therma differential thermometer, probes and a FREE traceable calibration certificate. The Budget Legionnaire Thermometer Kit offers excellent performance at a price that represents excellent value for money.

Each Budget Legionella Thermometer Kit contains:

- Therma 1 thermometer

- Waterproof surface probe

- Robust PTFE wire probe

- Zippered pouch

Improper water temperature is a key risk factor for Legionella growth. Legionella bacteria multiply in water at temperatures between 20 and 45°C. A typical method of control is to store hot water above 60°C and distribute it above 50°C (care must be taken to avoid burns). Cold water should be kept below 20°C.

This thermometer kit from Budget Legionnaire can be used to monitor the temperature of standing water and the surface of pipes and tanks that are part of the water system. The penetration probe can also be used to test tap water temperature.

The immersion probe must be placed in water at a minimum depth of 25 mm; The ribbon surface probe can be used to take the temperature of pipes and tanks, and the wired probe can be used to reach difficult locations or where other probes are not suitable. This kit comes with a traceable calibration certificate.

Current legislation means that if you are the employer or person in control of the premises, you must arrange a risk assessment. The revised Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) published by the Government Health and Safety Authority (HSE) significantly extends the scope of its guidance on the control of Legionella bacteria in water.

The code now applies to all workplace hot and cold water systems, regardless of their capacity, i.e. the lower limit of 300 liters previously used to exclude domestic systems does not no longer applies. While home systems can pose a risk, the code only applies to risk arising from work activity.

This means that all employers who operate premises with hot/cold water systems and/or a wet cooling system have a legal responsibility to identify any risk of contamination and prevent or control it.

LEGIONELLA TEST LEGAL RESPONSIBILITIES

If you are the employer or person in charge of the premises, you must arrange a risk assessment relating to exposure to legionella. The revised Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) on Legionnaires' Disease: Control of Bacterial Legionella in Water Systems (L8) published by the Government Health and Safety (HSE) significantly extends the scope of its guidelines on combating legionella in water. The code applies to all workplace hot and cold water systems, regardless of their capacity, i.e. the lower limit of 300 liters previously used to exclude domestic systems does not apply. applies more. While domestic systems can pose a risk, the code only applies to a risk arising from work activity, but includes domestic landlords who have a duty to protect their tenants from health risks. This means that all employers and owners,
